Modern vehicles rely on 'fly by wire' throttle technology to measure pedal pressure & position to send signals to the engine's computer and convert it to acceleration. Many of these systems have a noticeable delay. EVC throttle controllers by iDrive (rebranded as Ultimate9) reduce this lag and improve response to make the acceleration feel more responsive.

3. Ultimate Performance Mode (U):Â Ultimate performance mode has 9 settings and can be grouped into three stages:

• Ultimate mode 1-3: Everyday driving with smooth acceleration.
• Ultimate mode 4-6: Sportier, more responsive acceleration, great for use around town where short bursts of acceleration are needed.
• Ultimate mode 7-9: Strap yourself in and activate launch control, instant throttle response, beast mode, dont say we didnt warn you.

4. Automatic control (AC) Mode: Automatic control is essentially a set and forget mode. Fly-by-wire throttle systems have two potentiometers, one to measure how hard you press the pedal and the other to measure how far youve pushed the pedal. In automatic mode the EVC can determine these measures for you and adjust the throttle response to suit.

Note:Â It can take a few days to get used to the EVC's different modes and what works best for the driver. We recommend starting on or around Ultimate mode 4 (U4), this gives the driver plenty of throttle response to notice a substantial difference, without being too much to handle straight out of the box. Once the driver is comfortable with the different Ultimate mode settings, then we recommend experimenting with Automatic and Economy Mode.
